Zvuloon Dub System, Israel leading reggae band, reuniting for a one-time performance at the Zone Club in Tel Aviv.
After 7 years of absence, the band comes together for a special show that will feature songs from the band’s two albums, alongside a RUB A DUB session.
The special guests for the show will be: Papa Jibli (Tomer Herari), Ranking Levy, and I-Jah Solomon.

Warm up show by the Rootsters with original roots reggae.

The band was formed in 2006 by brothers Asaf and Ilan Smilan, who were living on Zvuloon Street in South Tel Aviv (this is where the band’s name came from). ZDS started performing in clubs, festivals, and reggae parties, quickly gaining a lot of interest within the Israeli reggae community. Initially, the band was instrumental, but they soon added their first lead vocalist, Tomer Herari (Papa Jibli), who co-wrote much of the band’s early material with the Smilan brothers. In late 2009, Herari left the band, and his place was taken by Gili Yalo.
In April 2012, the band released their debut album “Freedom Time” which included English materials. The album was self-released on their own label, Med.Tone
Records, and received excellent reviews. It was the result of six years of collaborative work, during which the band developed their unique sound and style.
The album was produced, recorded, and mixed in the band’s home studio.
In January 2013, the band released the double single ‘Weed Out’ featuring collaborations with international reggae artists Cornel Campbell and Ranking Joe. In
February 2014, they released another single, ‘Love Is Stronger’ featuring the Jamaican vocal trio The Viceroys, who have been active since 1967.
As a result of Yalo’s integration into the band, the sound of the band started incorporating Ethiopian music influences into their reggae and dub sound.
In 2014, they released their second album, “Anbessa Dub” (Anbessa means lion in Amharic and Tigre). This fusion created a new and original Israeli creation that is not strictly Ethiopian or rooted in Jamaican reggae.
Following the success of the breakthrough album, the band embarked on a tour in the United States, Canada, and Jamaica, including performances at the Sierra
Nevada World Music Festival (one of the largest reggae and world music festivals in the US) and the REGGAE SUMFEST (the largest reggae festival in Jamaica).

The reunion show at the Zone Club in Tel Aviv will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Doors open at 21:00, and the show will begin at 22:00.
