Itzhak Ventura is considered one of the leading musicians in Israel in his field and as continuing the ways of his teachers. A player, composer and producer who marvels at playing one of the oldest wind instruments in the East – the nai flute made of reed. Being considered a leading nai player, he immersed himself in learning and exploring the Arabic, Turkish and Persian nai styles. In his new album, Itzhak created a new and up-to-date musical language that combines ancient sounds and motifs of the Na’i with electronic music produced by Yuval Havkin (Rejoicer) on the Tapes Raw label. And the result is an album that takes the listener to a heavenly experience between a spiritual journey and a contemporary dive.
In addition to playing with the “East and West Jerusalem Orchestra” since its establishment in 2009, he has played with well-known orchestras and musicians in a wide variety of musical genres (Omer Adam, Tuna, Dodo Tessa, Johnny Greenwood).

About the show:
“Already from the first seconds of the performance, the understanding becomes clear that you are in a new and unusual musical space. The sound of the Hanai flute echoes a primal story of a journey that stretches from the mountains of Iran and Turkey to the deserts of Arabia and right to us. The rhythm section of the piano, the bass, the drums, and the analog synthesizers wrap the sounds in a tailored elegance that allows for a real and fascinating dialogue. Ventura’s original compositions pay a lot of respect to the past, but in the same breath they have a focused look at a completely new musical adventure, restrained and turbulent at the same time.’
