“Before 40” is the debut album by Doron Mizrahi — Academic Deputy Director of the Rimon School of Music, lecturer at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, composer, arranger, and guitarist.

The album, composed of nine “movements” forming a single continuous work, is a kind of autobiographical musical narrative, inspired by periods, people, and the exploration of musical styles that marked key stations in the composer’s life. Its foundation is rooted in jazz, yet alongside the jazz quintet, the Budapest Scoring Orchestra brings a rich cinematic-classical atmosphere to the recording.

The album was recorded in various locations around the world — Israel, Hungary, New York, and California — and features top-tier Israeli jazz musicians:
Eitan Itzcovich on drums, Elad Adar on piano, Salit Lahav on flute, and Mickey Warshai on bass.
Special guest artists include:
Oz Noy – award-winning guitarist recognized by Guitar Player Magazine;
Ruslan Sirota – Grammy-winning Israeli-Ukrainian-American jazz pianist;
Omer Fedi – acclaimed Israeli-American pop producer with four Grammy nominations;
and Yehezkel Raz – composer and pianist with millions of Spotify streams.

Following its release, the album’s tracks garnered thousands of likes on social media, received international airplay, and achieved impressive streaming figures on digital platforms.
