In the 30’s, before sound amplification, jazz was the music to dance to and bands had to play loud for the party to kick in. The swing era was marked by major big band composers such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller whose style and popularity are still vibrating almost a hundred years later.
Internationally acclaimed jazz master Eli Degibri has an incredible story of his own. His meteoric career took him from Yafo to the White House playing alongside living jazz giants who consider him one of them.
Largely considered one of Israel’s groundbreaking musicians, Eli already deserves a full biography and it is a privilege to have him conceive and direct this night.
The band features 11 of Israel’s top players who, under Eli’s supervision, pay a unique tribute to this amazing musical legacy on a 1:1 scale, which means:
