“Choro’le,” an Israeli *choro* ensemble active for over 18 years, presents a unique new show bringing the sounds of Northern Brazil to the Israeli stage. The performance aims to immerse the audience in the *forró* experience—a lively, upbeat music and dance style synonymous with Brazil’s coastal regions and their vibrant, rhythmic lifestyle.
In this new show, the *forró* style is given a fresh interpretation through the instrumentation and arrangements characteristic of a *choro* ensemble. This fusion creates a distinctive musical experience that bridges tradition and innovation. The program features virtuosic instrumental pieces alongside original arrangements of *forró* tunes and beloved Israeli songs.

Chorolê –
The Israeli Choro Ensemble is a group of five musicians and friends who formed the ensemble to preserve and promote the rich musical tradition of Brazilian Choro. “Choro” is a vibrant musical genre that originated in Brazil in the late 19th century. It is characterized by lively, complex melodies, virtuosic instrumental performances, and improvisation.
Often referred to as “the jazz of Brazil,” Choro has been an important part of Brazilian musical culture for over a century. The genre draws inspiration from and blends a variety of musical styles, including European classical music, African rhythms, and Brazilian folk music.
The Choro’le ensemble’s unique blend of traditional choro music with Israeli and Middle Eastern influences creates a distinctive and unforgettable musical experience. Each group member is a virtuoso on their instrument, and together they produce complex, captivating music—a true case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. The ensemble members’ passion for this music and the chemistry they share on stage have captivated audiences both in Israel and around the world.
