The Zone is happy and excited to invite you to the 2nd Bobiyada!
Bob Marley tribute performance festival.
In 1945, exactly 80 years ago, Robert Nesta Marley was born in the ghetto of Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, a baby with unusual starting figures to say the least. Son of a white father and a black mother, poor, uneducated, socially rejected…
Through his immortal songs, that man left his mark on humanity and continues to influence until now with the musical gospel he brought – reggae. Through music, Bob spread peace and brotherhood alongside social and political protest.
In light of the number of excellent songs, it is understood that one evening is not enough.
This year we are fulfilling a vision with a two-day mini-festival with completely different
performances:
Thursday evening, 6th of March – ‘Rasta Power’ with a performance of all the greatest hits and more (for details click here)
This page is dedicated to Friday afternoon, 7th of March – Kfir Ben Laish and the band Kings of Lion
This show focuses on the early period of Bob and the birth of reggae from 1965 until the end of 1975 alongside b-sides and songs that are not used to being heard live. For the purpose of the task, one of the greatest singers in Israel, an expert and a sworn fan of Bob, was recruited, he is the giant Kfir Ben Laish.
Next to him on stage:
Gilad Ben Laish – vocals, guitar, percussion
Asaf Smilan – drums
Shai Hamani – bass
Shahar Mintz – guitar
Nate Lev – keyboards and vocals
Ronald Reggae – vocals
With a high possibility for additional guests…
A unique treat for Bob lovers and connoisseurs! (and excellent music in general)
