Elyasaf Bashari has begun his own, new musical journey.
Said journey, is following over two decades of an illustrious career in music.
’Elyasaf co created the band ‘Quarter to Africa,
While Producing writing , and performing as lead singer, Oud, and Bass player.
As well as playing and recording for many of the most prominent musicians in Israel.
Among those artists are:
Avishai Cohen (Bass)
Daklon (Contra Bass)
Zion Golan
Riff Cohen
And many more.
Bashari’s latest project, (one that carries his namesake),
Is an amazing attempt at creating new music inspired by all the different aspects colors and genres that make up this artist’s life, heart, and soul.
The Oud, the Guitar, Yemen Funk, Hiphop, Folk, Soul, and Ballads, these are just some, of those main stage influences, you can expect to find in the ‘Elyasaf Bashari’ project.
Elyasaf offers a wide range and variety on the beloved instrument, the Oud.
From those much celebrated classics of the Arab world, (with an emphasis on the Yemen aspect) all the way to the Electric Oud, along with a world of electric effects.
You are bound to find hints, and notes from The Near East, Yemen tradition, Grove, Ambient, and many more (as aforementioned)
So many influences, that a need for a new name was born: Elyasaf calls it~ Inditerranian music. The new and independent sound of the Middle East.
